Default Spiteful Spirit Clone for Mesmer

When you look at the Mesmer concept, what do you see?

"The Mesmer is an expert in indirect damage and subtle magic, focusing on manipulation of the target to sway the events of battle to its favor."
Now I must ask.. Why the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO is spiteful spirit belong to the Necromancer, when it is clearly waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fitting for a mesmer?
I demand an SS clone for Mesmers. We have maaaaaaany elites we don't use. Why not change their functionality in the upcoming elites buff?
After all, it is ONLY common sense that if Mesmers get all these cool spells like Empathy, Mistrust, Clumsiness, and Backfire, that there should be an elite skill along these lines?
Also, don't say Ineptitude. Because it still is not a reason why Mesmers should not have a skill they should of had from the start.

lol, it works because the enemy is manipulated into doing something therefore taking damage. Thats why its a necro skill.

Also lol @ backfire being defined as cool

If Mesmers had a Spiteful Spirit elite clone, I wouldn't use it. I don't use it on my necro, so why would I use it on my main? I don't know if it's just me, but SS leaves something to be desired.

Necros need a way to deal decent damage without relying on the party.

Oh, and SS sucks.

uh no?
a curse is also indirect damage
are you gonna ask for a clone of [faintheartedness] and [suffering] or [reckless haste] too for mesmer?
those skills are also good for less functionality in battle
there are so many good skills and you could think like, yea maybe mesmer, but no it's a curse and it's fine that way

and read wiki

No inherent effect. Many Necromancer skills, especially hex spells which reduce your foes' effectiveness in battle, become more effective with higher Curses.

Curses can be described as a support attribute, meaning that while curses may not be able to kill an enemy by themselves, they sure make the killing a lot easier. This is because curses are all about weakening your foe in a wide variety of ways.

Welcome back to 2005 people.
This has actually been discussed a LOT (especially when SS was a major part of the meta).
Logically, yeah SS is more like a mesmer skill then a necro skill, but, what is done is done.
Really, all this is is proof that when GW2 rolls around, the necro and mesmer will both be merged into one class (hexer, etc), like they should have been in the first place.

Mesmers do 'miss' one elite compared to the other 6 professions, but mesmers are also not much AoE.

Maybe it could be an that deals chaos damage and it's triggered not by attacks and casting, but something more 'Mesmerish', like triggering anytime target foe receives an enchantment or is interrupted.

Mesmer can FC every spellcaster, even sometimes monk. I mean, like, Me/Mo bonder using high Illusion Magic + SoI (in DoA, better than a monk smiter...) or Me/Rt for FC healer (although that's a bit wasteful combination - why heal something worse than rit with worse e-management than necro and lesser party support than monk - if you can blow up shit to death/prevent from blowing up), Me/N for curses, Me/E for loldmg, Me/A for deadly arts (although that's overrated, rly) and so on.

Mesmers are as powerful as the player that controls them... Unlike Assassins or Dervs, where it's buttonmashing 1-2-3-4-1-2-3 and repeat.

Then the whole point of a necromancer (raising corpses, as it relates to mainstream RPGs) disappears.

There is actually a thread over in the necro forum about how much they don't want [[spiteful spirit]. Maybe they'll trade you for something.
